Olive Tree Stables

     Olive Tree Stables is a small private equestrian facility specializing in hunters, jumpers, and basic dressage.  We offer half hour and full hour private riding lessons for ages 7 and up, taught by MA licensed riding instructors.  Students will be able to learn about riding, tacking, grooming, horse care, and stable care.  Students will also be able to participate in local horse shows.


2008 LESSON RATES

½ Hour Private = $35.00 / 1 Hour Private = $50.00

**Cancellations and/or missed lessons without 24 hours notice will be charged for the full price of the lesson.  Payment is due at the time of services.  Late payments are subject to late fees.  There is a $25.00 returned check fee.**

Visiting the farm or the horses is done by appointment only.

INSTRUCTOR BIO

 

     Beth Fitzpatrick is the head instructor at Olive Tree Stables.  She is a graduate of Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island.  She has received her M.B.A. in Global Business Leadership and Marketing, B.S. in Equine Business Management and Riding, A.S. in Equine Studies, and is a former Johnson & Wales IHSA Team Captain.  Beth has had over fifteen years of experience in the equine industry.  She is American Red Cross Certified in CPR and First Aid, holds a State of MA Riding Instructors License, and State of MA Riding School/Stable License.  She is also on the Board of Directors for the Norfolk County Farm Bureau and a USA Equestrian member.

LOCATION

     Olive Tree Stables is conveniently located off of Interstate 95 and Route 1 on Old Post Road in Sharon, MA.  We are also minutes from Interstate 495, Route 27, Route 140, and only thirty minutes from both Boston and Providence.  Please contact us for directions.

STABLE RULES & POLICIES

  • ** ASTM-SEI Approved helmets are required to be worn by everyone when mounted on an equine.**  Helmets can be borrowed from the farm or purchased from a local tack shop.
  • No person shall mount an equine on the property without  reading, understanding, and signing a Student Agreement (including: Rider Information and Emergency Information, Stable Rules and Regulations, Massachusetts State Equine Law, Inherent Risks/Assumption of Risks, Liability Release, Acknowledgement of Warnings, Wavier of Consortium Claims, Emergency Authorization, and Photo Release).
  • Visiting the farm at times other than when having a scheduled lesson is done by appointment when the instructor is present.  Please call ahead and make arrangements if you wish to stop by.
  • Missed lessons without 24 hours notice will be charged the full price of each lesson missed.
  • Lesson fees are due at the time of service.
  • There is a $25.00 returned check fee.
  • No smoking on the property.
  • No student shall be in the barn, arena, or paddocks without the instructor.
  • Please do not feed the animals without permission.
  • Children (not in lessons) must be carefully monitored and accompanied by an adult.
  • Please leave all pets at home.
  • No running or shouting around the horses.
  • Shoes must be worn at all times on the property.
  • No chewing gum or hard candy.
  • Always wear the correct riding attire:  no shorts, no tank-tops, sturdy boots with a minimum of a ½” heel, ASTM/SEI certified helmet, no excessive jewelry, and dress for the weather.
  • Please drive slowly on the property.
  • Do not honk your car horn on the property.
  • Observing lessons should only be done in the observation area.  Please refrain from commenting during the lesson as this may be distracting for the student. 
  • Please arrive at your lesson a couple of minutes early.  If riders are late, lesson times will not be extended.

Under Massachusetts law, an equine professional is not liable for an injury to, or the death of, a participant in equine activities resulting from the inherent risks of equine activities, pursuant to Section 2D of Chapter 128 of the General Laws.
